Arsenal have agreed a deal for Barcelona’s highly-rated defender Joel Lopez.
That’s according to Sport journalist Albert Roge,
The Gunners, who made a name for themselves of signing and developing young talent under Arsene Wenger look set to continue the trend under new head coach Unai Emery.
Lopez, who operates as a left-back will likely be nurtured in the academy set-up next season.
Nacho Monreal, Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles all rotated the left-back spot last term.
It’s a big signing by Head of Football Relations Raul Sanllehi who The Sun say used his old connections with the Catalan giants to tie Lopez to a deal.
Having previously been Sporting Director at the Camp Nou, Sanhelli persuade the teenager to turn down a contract from Barca and interest from Liverpool to join The Arsenal.
The starlet is set to become Arsenal’s third signing of the summer as Emery continues to build his squad.
