Speculation surrounding Jack Wilshere’s future has taken another twist with the Arsenal midfielder now reportedly attracting interest from Italy.

The Arsenal board’s inability to seal the England international’s future has given AC Milan a chance to sign the player for free.

Wilshere’s contract expires at the end of this season. The playmaker currently on £120,000 a week, has been offered a basic weekly wage of £90,000, which he is set to reject.

The Express claim the Milan board was impressed with the midfielder’s performance at San Siro last week. Rossoneri are now planning to sign the player on a free transfer. Milan’s Serie A rivals Juventus and Sampdoria are also in the race for Wilshere.

The Gunners have taken a 2-0 lead ahead of Thursday’s second leg at the Emirates.

Wilshere, who was rested for last Sunday’s visit of Watford is expected to start against the Italian giants.

The midfielder is currently available to sign a pre-agreement with a foreign club as he has entered the last six months of his contract.
