Nicolas Pepe is in line to make his first Premier League start at Anfield on Saturday after settling in well to his new side.

The £72million winger has been eased through the opening games of the season with two substitute appearances.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Emery said: “He didn’t do pre-season with us but he is progressively feeling better and his individual performances are improving.

Unai Emery is happy with Nicolas Pepe’s progress so far

“For example in the first match, he played 15 minutes at Newcastle, then he played 45 minutes against Burnley. For Saturday, he is ready to have more minutes again.

“Pepe’s progress has been positive. The most important piece of his adaptation is to help him to feel easy and to be comfortable with the rest of the team.”
