Arsenal could face severe competition for Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico with Real Madrid now reportedly interested in signing the defender.
Tagliafico, 26, has been exceptional since arriving from Argentine club Independiente for £4million in January 2018.
He’s bagged six goals and provided seven assist in 45 appearances in all competitions – including three in the Champions League against AEK Athens and Bayern Munich.
Ajax currently sit a close second in the Eredivisie table – Tagliafico has been instrumental in their fight for their first title in five years, appearing in 18 of the 23 matches so far.
The Argentine has also 12 caps for his country and now Real Madrid are eyeing him up, according to the player’s agent (via Metr0).
‘Real Madrid have Tagliafico’s name on their list, because Marcelo is off to Juventus,’ said Richard Schliper. ‘But no one has called me yet.’
Arsenal currently have Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac to choose from at left-back. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s Marcelo has been held down the position at the Bernabeu since 2007, making over 450 appearances for the Champions League holders.
