Report: Santi Cazorla contacts Unai Emery to make transfer happen

Former Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has made contact with Unai Emery in a bid persuade the Gunners manager to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres.

Cazorla, who spent six years at Arsenal (2012-2018) was adored by supporters, but injuries kept him from displaying his best form.

The Spaniard has since returned to fitness and form back with Villarreal in Spain and 90min claim that Arsenal have been contacted by their former midfielder, with Cazorla reportedly telling Emery to move for teammate Torres.

The defender, 22, has impressed for Villarreal this season, helping them to ninth in the La Liga table.

Torres supposedly has a release clause of in between £44million and £65m – but Arsenal want to strike a deal for less.

The Gunners signed David Luiz for £8m this past summer, but Emery’s side are still uncertain in defence. William Saliba is already on his way, but Emery is still desperate to bring in reinforcements.
