Arsenal have refused to comment on speculation that Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat is set to leave the club.

The German joined Arsenal in November as part of the restructuring process at the Emirates. Nicknamed ‘Diamond Eye’, Mislintat earned his reputation for finding hidden gems during his 10 years as a scout for Borussia Dortmund.

He is credited with bringing the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Shinji Kagawa and Ousmane Dembele to the Bundesliga side.

It’s uncertain exactly why the 46 year-old is reportedly looking for an exit, however there are growing reports of unrest within the scouting department.

Furthermore, the appointment of Raul Sanllehi – who has one of the most detailed contacts books in the game – as head of football last year has further complicated matters regarding the club’s recruitment policy.

So far Mislintat has been a integral factor in the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bernd Leno. Should he leave, the German will have clubs queuing up to bring him on board.
