Both José Antonio Reyes and Robin van Persie have received callups for their respective international squads.
Reyes and Spain will play South American middleweights Venezuela in Las Palmas next Wednesday, while van Persie and the Netherlands will take on Sweden on the same night.
Former Spain boss Inaki Saez didn’t take José Reyes with him to Portugal for Euro 2004, however new boss Luis Aragones has selected the Arsenal starlet ahead of Wednesday nights friendly against Venezuela. Eight players have been omitted from the new boss’s squad.
Within the Dutch camp, Robin van Persie will receive his first ever Dutch cap against the Swedes, while Patrick Kluivert has been dropped from the team. New boss Marco van Basten rates van Persie very highly and will use the same squad against the Czech Republic for a World Cup qualifier in early September.
Arsenal-Mania wishes both José and Robin the best of luck with their countries!
