Frank Ribery’s agent has denied press reports that he had met with Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger over a potential transfer to the London club.

“I didn’t meet Arsène Wenger neither in Paris nor anywhere else and I didn’t get any offer for Franck,” the Marseille winger’s agent told L’Equipe.

“Even if some names are rumoured to hire him, like Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, I have not received any concrete offer.

“At the moment, Franck’s priority is to have a holiday and some rest. He will be back on July 29.

“Meanwhile, I have asked to meet Pape Diouf about Franck. I hope we will do it in the coming days.”

Ribery is understood to favour a move to Arsenal over any other destination, and had been quoted as saying he wanted to move to a “big English club with a French manager.”

However, Marseille chairman Pape Diouf is still keen to hang onto his player, stating: “I have no Franck Ribery problem. If there is a Ribery problem, it is only for the ones who want to make him leave or sign him.

“Ribery achieved a good World Cup and is now on holiday. We expect him back for training sessions on July 29.

“You know, in our group there are a lot of players we have received offers for. If Ribery is part of them, that proves we didn’t make any mistake in signing him.”
