Rob Holding is on course to be fit for the new season.
The English centre-half was outstanding for Arsenal before suffering a nee injury in December.
Holding was stretched off in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford and missed the rest of the season.
The young defender was expected to miss the start of the upcoming season, but the 23 year-old is now around a month ahead of schedule.
Arsenal are optimistic of the defender getting minutes under his belt during their pre-season.
Holding took a big step forward on his road to recovery by returning to full training for the first time ahead of Arsenal’s overnight friendly with Bayern Munich in LA and has been earmarked to feature in one of the Gunners’ final pre-season fixtures ahead of the new season.
Unai Emery’s side take on Lyon in the Emirates Cup on Sunday July 28 and French side Angers three days later.
Gooners, should Holding be our go-to defender? Let us know in the comments…
