Roma will not be engaging in a January transfer swap deal involving Aaron Ramsey.

That’s the message from sporting director Monchi.

Ramsey’s contract at the Emirates Stadium expires at the end of the season and the midfielder could leave the club as early as January having been told that he will not be offered an extension.

The club are unwilling to match his wage demands and retracted their preliminary contract agreement.

Reports in the Mirror suggested that Arsenal could look to sign Roma forward Patrik Schick on loan in January as a replacement for Danny Welbeck, who is now expected to be absent for around four months with a broken ankle.

However, Monchi has rubbished those claims.

Speaking to Gianluca Di Marzio , Monchi said: “Schick? We have confidence in him, he won’t leave on loan.”

One club Ramsey will not be heading to is Liverpool. Reports last month revealed Jurgen Klopp doesn’t see any place for the Welshman in his midfield.
