The Premier League transfer window has slammed shut but clubs can still offload current stars with several leagues in Europe still yet to close their windows.

Arsenal have been trying to find a buyer for Shkodran Mustafi this summer, and if reports are correct, the German could be heading to Roma.

Forza Roma claim Unai Emery is prepared to let Mustafi move to Italy on a season-long loan with the view to a £23million permanent deal.

The German’s future at the Emirates is bleak after Arsenal completed a stunning £8m deadline day move for David Luiz.

The Brazilian and Sokratis will be the club’s first choice in the heart of defence this term, while Rob Holding and Calum Chambers are suitable backups.

Roma are desperate for a new centre-back after selling Kostas Manolas to Napoli.

Mustafi is suggested to be happy to remain at The Emirates, but the Gunners are determined to offload him to a foreign side as he no longer features in Emery’s plans.
