Sanchez and Ozil deals hit further blocks

Arsenal duo, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have demanded an extra £70k-a-week if the club want them to sign new contracts before the January transfer window, according to reports in The Times.

The star pair are after £250k-a-week contracts in order to keep them at The Emirates, which will could eventually cost the club £36m more than they had originally budgeted for.

Between them they have bagged 69 goals in 227 appearances for the Gunners and manager, Arsene Wenger, is keen to tie his key assets down to new deals in order to fend of interest from elsewhere.

The Germany international has been repeatedly linked with a move back to Spain to rejoin his former club, Real Madrid, therefore the hierarchy at The Emirates are keen to seal the negotiations, which have been running for over a year.

Both current deals still have another two-years to run on, taking them through until 2018, however the club reportedly remain confident that they will finalise the deals.
