Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac has spoken out about the reaction his teammates and Unai Emery gave him after his costly error in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw at Manchester United.

The Gunners had just retaken the lead in the second-half when seconds after the restart, Kolasinac bundled the ball into the path of Jesse Lingard, and the England forward made no mistake from close-range to rescue a point for the Red Devils.

Kolasinac, who has nailed down the left-back spot in Nacho Monreal’s absence, lifted the lid on how Arsenal players consoled him after the draw.

‘It’s a good feeling coming into the dressing room like that,’ he said (via Sky Sports).

‘Especially after knowing you’ve made a mistake and that mistake has potentially cost us two points. It made me feel better.

“The manager told me in no uncertain terms not to get too down about it, and that did help me. Everyone in the team too, it wasn’t just the coaching staff.

“All the players came over and they consoled me and told me not to get too down about it, and it gives you belief and confidence. You notice then we’re a tight-knit team and I think it’s a positive.”

Kolasinac is in line to face off against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
