It is a complete disgrace that Wenger and the Arsenal board have allowed their star players to reach the final year of their contracts. This coming summer is going to be humiliating for Gunners fans as they have the prospect of losing both Sanchez and Ozil on a free. That is millions of pounds in revenue gone due to the poor handling of player contracts. Surely with a mistake that has cost the club over 100 million, someone’s head needs to roll. MaxFreeBets have reported that one of the most popular bets is from Gunners fans on Wenger been fired before the end of the season and it is no surprise why.

You would not find any of the other top clubs allowing their star players to enter into the last year of their contracts. Arsenal fans must be jealous of the way that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy handles business as they have all of their top players signed to long deals on a third less than what they are worth. The summer transfer window was a complete disaster for the Gunners and instead of cashing in on Sanchez while they still could, the deal blew up on the final day due to lack of forwarding thinking, which seems to be a trend happening at the Emirates of late.

One player that will not be missed by the Gunners fans is Ozil who wants to be paid extravagant wagers and he is not prepared to put the work in on the pitch to show that he deserves it. Yes, he is one of the best in Europe for assists but they have not been as prolific as of late and he does not bring anything else to the table.

One rumor that has flown around the back pages is that Manchester United are interested in the German international. If that is the case Arsenal should snap their hands off and get as much cash as they can while it is still possible. It is hard to see any club apart from a crazy Chinese one that would be willing to pay the 350,000 pounds per week wage demands. It is the reason the club was unable to cash in over the summer and it is difficult to see a club willing to pay both the wagers and transfer fee. The likelihood is that no one will pay over the odds, especially when they only have to wait a few months to save a considerable amount of money.

If Arsenal mess up again when the transfer window opens again in the summer it is going to be very difficult to qualify for the Champions League once more. The team needs major investment which should have come from the sale of Sanchez and Ozil. Instead, the Gunners board are going to have to dig deep into their pockets to get the team out of the mess they created.

Over the last few years, Arsenal seems to have progressed backward and it is difficult to see when this will stop. They are no longer the top team in North London and it could take them a considerable time to reclaim that throne. Spurs have taken the complete opposite approach to player contract and unless the Gunners follow their bitter rivals blueprint, they could implode.
