Arsene Wenger will be on a watching brief in the stands at St. Mary’s this evening, after a four game touchline ban for pushing the fourth official at The Emirates.

The Gunners take on a Southampton side riding the crest of a wave after they reached the final of the EFL Cup in the week, with a 1-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield, setting themselves up for their first major final since Arsenal beat them in the 2003 FA Cup final in Cardiff.

Wenger will be keen to see his side, who haven’t beaten the Saints on the road since the year of that cup final, turn around a poor recent record against the south coast side and book their place in the fifth round.

Claude Puel, who was a player under the Gunners boss at Monaco, has twice taken his team to The Emirates this term, losing controversially in the Premier League before winning 2-0 in the EFL Cup, on their way to the final.
