Arsenal are rumoured to be plotting a shock move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.

Arsenal doing business with Tottenham is as periodic as seeing Halley’s Comet in our skies. Sol Campbell crossed paths in 2001, but even the two time Premier League winner an ‘Invincible’ was out of contract with Spurs.

However, now it appears Gunners boss Unai Emery is set to make a surprise bid for Alderweireld’s services. The Belgium international could be available for just £25million due to a clause in his contract and clubs are planning to exploit the situation.

Alderweireld could be on the move this summer

According to The Sun, Arsenal have identified him as a potential target with Unai Emery keen to bolster his defensive ranks.

Arsenal have several other options to consider but Alderweireld is currently the most cost effective.
