Swansea 0-3 Arsenal: 5 things we learnt

Arsenal made it five consecutive Premier League wins in a row with a superb 3-0 victory over Swansea City, which saw the Gunners keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the league.

It means Arsenal won all four of their Premier League fixtures in October and are now the form side in the league, heading into a crucial North London derby next weekend- which could test Arsenal as to whether they are genuine title contenders or not.

A trip to South Wales in never easy, as Arsenal know first-hand following disappointments there in the past. However, this time the Gunners came with a game-plan and executed it perfectly.

Here, @DanGaeleaStJon identifies five crucial lessons we learnt from the victory. Post your man of the match in the comments below!

Joel Campbell justified his inclusion

In a rather languid first half performance by the team, he was one of the only bright stars. It took him a while to settle, as he looked a bit uncertain for a while, but his overall attitude and determination was a big positive.

He almost scored with a beautifully curled effort that had Fabianski watching the ball nervously as it skimmed past his far post.

Mesut Ozil cannot stop assisting

This season we are seeing the man which Wenger bought from Real Madrid. In each of last five Premier League games we have seen him assist at least one goal. He is now only 3 assists short of Messi’s 98 assists (most assists since 2008).

With 2 assists today (and a good cross in the build up to the Koscielny’s goal), it is safe to say that he is our prime creator this season.

Arsenal have been in imperious goal scoring form

In their last 5 Premier League games Arsenal have scored 16 goals and conceded just 3.

Also, the first goal of yesterday’s game was the 2000th goal under Arsene Wenger. It is this type of goal scoring form that Champions need.

Not many attacking options on the bench

A downside in an otherwise good game is Arsenal’s lack of attacking options on the bench. The only forward player on the bench was Alexander Iwobi (who made his Premier League debut).

This is particularly worrying, because Arsene Wenger cannot rest his forward players because there is no one to replace them.

Also, the lack of competition may lead to complacency.

Cech in superior form, yet again

He did not perform any outstanding saves, but his presence today in goal ensured yet another clean sheet.

When Gomis was through on goal in the first half, Cech opened up well enough to put him off, and subsequently allow Bellerin to track back and tackled Gomis. In 11 premier League games so far he has kept 7 clean sheets.
