Arsenal host Doncaster in the Carabao Cup tonight as the teams go head to head for the first time since 2005.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Danny Welbeck will not return until after the international break.

The Gunners striker who suffered a groin injury against Chelsea on Sunday was hobbled off at Stamford Bridge.

Neither Mattieu Debuchy or Mesut Ozil will feature for the Gunners in tonight’s clash with Doncaster. Debuchy is not ready to make his return, while Ozil is still nursing inflammation of his knee.

Wenger confirmed that both Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere will be involved and are likely to start against the League 1 side.

Wilshere is out of contract next summer and needs a solid run of games if he hopes to extend his stay.

In 2005, Arsenal survived a Carling Cup scare after Gilberto’s last-gasp goal forced a penalty shootout against Doncaster, which the Gunners won 3-1.

Arsenal fans will be expecting a far more straightforward tie this time around.
