At every club there are the stories of those ‘what if’ players, and Arsenal is no exception.

Aided in that conquest by a solid reputation for producing fine young players over the years, the Gunners have had there fair share of talented players leave the club, only to go on a reap success elsewhere.

Carlos Vela springs to the mind. The Mexican promised so much during his few years with Arsenal, finding the net regularly on the few times he was called upon before his move to loan move Real Sociedad. While it was indeed Vela’s choice to stay in Spain, you cannot help but think what might have been had the forward stayed at The Emirates.

Serge Gnabry is another. While he may not have been as successful under Arsene Wenger as the aforementioned Vela, he still showed promise. However, he was allowed to leave, and after only one year away from the club permanently, the German youngster has established himself in the national team and earned himself a move to Bayern Munich. Sigh.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic spent time on trail with the Gunners only to decline a move. As did Yaya Toure. Lassana Diarra went on to have a pretty successful career all over Europe after leaving the club prematurely. The list goes on, but which is the worst?
