The Kieran Tierney era at Arsenal is now officially over with the 27-year-old Scottish star set to head back to Celtic this summer.
The full-back will end his six-year stay at the Emirates when he returns to his former club on a free transfer, with the Bhoys confirming he has signed a pre-contract agreement.
There were the highest of hopes that Tierney would be a genuine superstar when he moved to London for a €27m fee in the summer of 2019, and he started well in red and white.

The last two seasons have suggested that his spell in the south was on borrowed time, with Tierney being loaned to La Liga side Real Sociedad in 2023-24 and then only making 2 Premier League starts so far this season.
Celtic confirm Tierney move
There had been speculation that Tierney would complete a transfer to return to Celtic during the recent January window, but that did not happen. On Monday though Celtic revealed in their interim financial report that a summer move is in place.
It said: “During the January 2025 transfer window, we acquired the permanent registration of Jota and the temporary registration of Jeffrey Schlupp.
“In addition, we extended the contract of Kasper Schmeichel and entered into a pre-contract agreement that will see Kieran Tierney return to Celtic in July 2025. We disposed of the registrations of Kyogo Furuhashi, Alexander Bernabei and placed Luis Palma, Odin Holm and Stephen Welsh on Loan.”

Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers had confirmed during the window that he’d love to have Tierney back, and was pushing for the move to happen last month.
He had said: “Ideally it would [happen in January] but, at this moment, he’s still an Arsenal player.
“I think everyone is agreed that it will definitely take place in the summer. If we can do it beforehand, then great.”
