Former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has endured a torrid time on the pitch since his £26m transfer switch to Manchester United.

The 29 year-old has netted just four times in 2018 for Jose Mourinho’s side – a feat which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang managed in just 55 playing minutes.

Sanchez, who pockets a huge £350,000-a-week, is now reportedly assessing his options, such is his unhappiness with life at Old Trafford.

Sanchez scored 60 league goals in a three-and-a-half year spell at Arsenal

The Chile international turned down Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in January in favour of the Red Devils and back in the New Year, Sanchez’s transfer was seen as a significant coup for the Red Devils.
However, with United sitting behind the likes of Watford and Bournemouth this season, it’s fair to say things have not gone to plan.
Sanchez himself was accused of choosing United because of the money they were prepared to pay him.

But the Evening Standard say a main factor was what Mourinho told him.

The Red Devils boss reportedly promised him a starring role, guaranteeing him he would become the club’s talisman.
