Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has taken a swipe at Arsenal for the decision to sanction the transfer of Serge Gnabry.

The 24 year-old netted twice in Bayern’s 3-0 win over Chelsea in Tuesday’s last-16 Champions League tie.

Gnabry, who spent four years at Arsenal was sold in 2016 after failing to establish himself as a regular in Arsene Wenger’s side.

The German, who came through Arsenal’s youth system, only managed one goal in 18 first-team appearances for the club.

Gnabry was sold to Werder Bremen where he shined with 11 goals in 27 games for the Bundesliga outfit before being bought by Bayern in 2017.

And after Gnabry scored two goals against Chelsea last night, Muller admitted he is glad that it didn’t work out for his compatriot at Arsenal.

“I’m happy he is scoring so much in London now and not five years ago, Muller told Sky Sport in Germany.

“Because if that were the case he probably wouldn’t be with us now!”

Bayern have now netted 10 goals in two visits to London following their thumping 7-2 win over Tottenham back in October.
