Three key Burnley men Arsenal must watch out for

Arsene Wenger had wanted Boadu at the Emirates

Burnley are an unpredictable Premier League side this season, with many players being able to hurt Arsenal today at the Emirates.

Sean Dyche’s away form has been his biggest downfall since being promoted back into the top division, whilst his home form has been tremendous. Something just hasn’t been right in the Burnley boys mentality when travelling away from home, which will surely change at some point this season – could it be today?

They will be a tough side to break down for the Gunners, with Burnley players having a solid understanding amongst eachother and a brilliant work rate. They outrun their opponents in usually every game, and today should be no different, with a lot of off the ball movement.

Here are the THREE Burnley men Arsenal should be cautious with… Do you agree? Who do you think are Burnley’s key threats?

Sam Vokes

The tall Welsh striker has been in fine form since his side achieved promotion last season, being Burnley’s main outlet for a long ball option, as well as their top goal scorer.

Vokes plays the targetman role for Dyche and performs consistently in the Premier League. His partnership with pacey Andre Grey has worked in recent weeks, but it would be surprising to see Burnley line-up with two strikers at the Emirates today.

Scott Arfield

The midfielder is definitely the most creative player Burnley have in their squad. Arfield was playing his football at Burnley when they were last in the Premier League and showed the division he could play at the level required of him, including a goal on his Premier League debut against Chelsea at Turf Moor.

Since their promotion to the league again, Arfield has kept up his performances from last time around, catching the attention of some clubs in the country.

George Boyd

George Boyd is a player every team needs in their side. The wingers work rate is second to none, travelling the highest distance in the majority of his games. His work rate is immense, and gives defenders a tough time every week.

Teams such as Arsenal may not pinpoint Boyd as a threat with the ball at his feet, but the wingers workrate off the ball will certainly play a huge part to Burnley’s performance today.
