So far this has been a season to forget, not just for Arsenal fans but also Arsene Wenger and his players. It seems as though every game there is some sort of lack of discipline that leads to dropping an unnecessary amount of points. For some players, it’s just a bad game but for others it’s a recurring thing that has hurt the team all season. Here are the three players that seem to let Arsene Wenger down the most.

First up is Petr Cech, who has at times this season been absolutely dreadful. The Arsenal keeper has been culpable for four errors leading to goals this season, which is tied for the most amongst all players in the league. Cech has also yet to save a penalty kick since joining the Gunners, one to note for players at, and it is no wonder that Chelsea were willing to let him go. The Chelsea legend, is long past his prime and at this point is only hurting Arsenal. Arsene can no longer count on him to protect the goal like he once did years ago.

The next player that seems to constantly be at the centre of a big mistake is Granit Xhaka. The Swiss midfielder joined the Gunners last summer and has be one of the most inconsistent players in the team. He sits just behind Cech for most errors leading to goals, with three made so far this season. Xhaka’s inability to cope in the midfield and inconsistency has really been a big letdown for Wenger.

The final player added to this list is centre back Shkodran Mustafi. He joined Arsenal the same summer that Xhaka did to fill a much needed hole in the centre of the defence, and so far he has only made that hole bigger. His ability to read the game is far behind that of a consistent central defender and he seems to be out of position way too often. The first goal scored by Man City on Sunday was due to Mustafi’s poor defending and judgement. His inconsistent defending has only added to the Gunner’s defensive woes.

All these players have been given Arsene Wenger’s faith week in and week out and each time fail to repay him. They have all been at the centre of mistakes all season and have seen the team suffer because of them. With all these mistakes, it is within the best interest of the club to quickly find their replacements.
