Three reasons Benzema would be a hit at Arsenal

Today has been filled with Benzema to Arsenal rumours, with the Real Madrid star sharing a rather cryptic post to his Instagram account. As expected, it set off a social media firestorm, with fans reacting on twitter and other platforms. Wenger was asked about the speculation and asserted that he would not rule it out nor promise it. Benzema is the name on many gooners lips when it comes to centre forwards to take Arsenal to the next level, and most believe the Frenchman would make Arsenal instant title contenders. His ability is proven and he undoubtedly would strengthen most clubs in the world.

There are dozens of reason he would be an instant success at Arsenal, but let’s stick with the top three. Have a look at three reasons Benzema would be a hit at Arsenal.

See you at the finish line

This video best displays the wide array of tools Benzema has in his locker. He is a pure goal scorer, as natural a finisher as I’ve ever seen. Absolutely knows his way around the box. He can score with both feet, his head, volley, half volley, edge of the area. No matter where or how the ball lands to him, if he is in goal scoring range you can bet your mortgage he’s sticking it away. He knows when to get across his marker and when to just peel off his shoulder and always ends up in a dangerous position for the team. He is supremely intelligent in his movement and with the kind of service he would get from Ozil, Cazorla, Sanchez, and co, he could get 25-30 goals per season easily.

Two’s company

As we have seen for France, Benzema quite likes playing in a centre forward duo as well as on his own. His movement and combination play lends itself to complimenting a partner in attack, and with Giroud he has his perfect foil. Giroud, with his strength and hold up play, would knock down and lay off plenty of dangerous ball for Benzema to feed off of so he offers something from that perspective two. He is a different tactical option from Giroud which is why the pair of them works so well together for their country. They could continue that at Arsenal.
