Exhilarating encounter with Leicester City today, as Arsenal came out on top of a high scoring 5-2 affair. It was end to end stuff, and Arsenal had to come back from a 1-0 deficit to hold off a plucky Leicester outfit. The Foxes came into the math undefeated and high in spirits, and it showed early on when Jamie Vardy put the host ahead. A quick fire response from Theo Walcott followed by a breathtaking hat trick from in form again Alexis Sanchez saw Arsenal storm into a commanding lead before substitute Olivier Giroud cancelled out Vardy’s second later in the game.

There was much to take away from today’s performance, not just for Sanchez return to glory but for Arsenal’s resilient spirit and sharp attacking play. Arsenal looked flat and bereft of ideas at some stages of this season, with an apparent shortage of goals causing concern for some sectors of fans. Wenger’s army looked to have put them far beyond them today, and hope to continue that form into the season ahead. Have a look at three things today’s victory showed us.

Great performance. But to tell you the truth, I don’t like the goals we conceded, especially the second one, vardy was left far too much space to take aim and score. Intending champions don’t concede goals like that. Sorry to be a wet towel, but that ‘s how I see it.

U r right .. We have to accumulate more goals … At least goals is important in epl … We suppose to be at 3rd position now… Goals brought us down.

Completely agree. Both goals from Vardy were because he was given too much space. Mertesacker’s pace was too slow getting back for the first goal. I hold Cech a little bit accountable (even though he was fouled) for not checking his bearings or neing more commanding.

Point taken Ogban but to be fair, with Chelsea still stumbling and City loosing two on the bounce no team looks like they are defending like true champions. Although United are top now I think there defence is even less convincing. On the plus side today both of our full backs got some assists in and Gabriel or younger kosielney as I call him was suspended. That back four I have a feeling if they stay fit can eclipse Chelsea’s defensive record last year. Actually back five, no Coquelin today.

I think the fault was from Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. I see why wenger doesn’t start him. He’s not fighting enough. He didnt cover that ball for the second goal, he just stood there and watched on. I was gutted at his performance. I think he deserves to be a starter but he’s not fighting for it. He worries me cos i feel he should be competing with hazard and sanchez. I hope he comes through this season cos i have high hopes for him

Yes I agree with the goal we conceded….I remember spotting the Ox watching others defend….as he was focused on the loose ball to go attack/score …tht was his responsibility to cover wardy…as belerin had been drawn Inside to defend…
