La Gazzetta Dello Sport are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery is a candidate to succeed Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager if the Frenchman departs the club at the end of the season.

Emery won a hat-trick of Europa League trophies at Sevilla before moving to PSG in the summer but despite the Ligue One side beating Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League, they still trail Monaco by three points in the league with 11 games to go this season.

La Gazzetta believe that Emery could be an alternative to Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, who they also say is in the running for the job at Arsenal. Whether this is just a passing mention by the Italian newspaper or they have a genuine source that links the Spaniard with the Emirates, we don’t know.

Emery’s results at PSG over the next few months may determine his future employment but he would be an interesting choice considering his success in European competitions in recent years.
