Arsenal will not win the Premier League under Arsene Wenger again.

That’s the thoughts of Arsenal legend Tony Adams who says he wouldn’t be surprised if his former manager extended his current deal at the club.

Arsenal were beaten for the fifth time this season after losing 3-1 to Manchester United on Saturday. The Gunners were ruthlessly punished for sloppy defending as Jose Mourinho’s side moved seven ahead and left Arsenal 15 behind leaders Manchester City.

It’s approaching 14 years since Arsenal last lifted the Premier League and when asked whether his former manager can guide the club to another title, Adams was less than convinced.

He’s contracted for another 18 months, so you’re asking me whether this squad can do it. I don’t think they can, I think that’s pretty obvious.

“But how long will he go on for now? How old is he 67? He’s already said retirement is death to him, so you can’t see him retiring and there doesn’t seem to be anything outside of the game for him.”

Adams, who lifted the title twice under Arsene Wenger says he can see the Frenchman extending his deal.

“It wouldn’t be beyond me to see him sign another extension for another couple of years as well.”

Gooners, do you think Adams is correct? Let us know in the comments…
