Emmanuel Eboue

Much like Nicklas Bendtner, Emmanuel Eboue fits the ‘cult hero’ definition absolutely perfectly given the fact he wasn’t the greatest footballer but again appeared over 100 times for the Gunners with plenty of colourful moments.

Subbed on to the field and then subbed off due to how poor Eboue was in tackling his own Arsenal team-mate while gifting possession to Wigan Athletic at Emirates Stadium in December 2008, this was Eboue at his worst but he also provided good moments also.

Always revered as somebody with tremendous spirit and camaraderie around the dressing room, Eboue has been involved in several humorous situations in his career, namely trying to figure out what the North Korea manager and one of his player’s was saying to each other during a World Cup fixture with Ivory Coast in 2010.
