Lucas Torreira is ‘no longer at ease’ with life at Arsenal due to his position within the team, his agent says.

Unai Emery has been utilising the midfielder infrequently this season.

Torreira has has been forced to adopt a more advanced position under the manager and he’s started just four Premier League games under Emery this term.

And with Matteo Guendouzi, Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock often finding themselves ahead of him in the pecking order, the Uruguayan’s future is far from certain

Torreira’s representative, Pablo Bentancur, insists his client has never contacted Arsenal to discuss a transfer move, however the 23 year-old is not happy with his situation.

“I must say that the change of role has penalised him sharply,” Bentancur told Calciomercato.

“He is no longer at ease and we hope that things can change.”

Asked whether Torreira could leave Arsenal next summer if things do not improve, Bentancur responded: ‘We have no problem with Arsenal, only words of thanks.

‘They allowed Lucas to compete in the Premier League, he has always shown great confidence. Clearly, there is interest for Torreira, especially from Spanish clubs.

‘However, I have never sat down with any club to talk about a transfer. This is because of the great respect we have for the Gunners and their general manager Raul Sanllhei.’
