According to reports, Arsenal are ready to revive their interest in Jonny Evans this summer.

The West Brom captain is expected to be on the move this summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

Arsenal have shown interest in the former Manchester United enforcer in the previous two transfer windows. A reported £12m bid for Evans was rejected by West Brom in January.

A relegation release clause in the Northern Ireland international’s contract means he is available for just £3m. The Guardian say both Arsenal and Manchester City are ready to revive the interest they showed in the 30-year-old last summer.

Evans, 30, is a three-time Premier League winner and has been capped 68 times by Northern Ireland. It’s unclear whether Arsenal will allow any of their centre-halves to leave this summer. Per Mertesacker has already retired, while Laurent Koscielny is out for six months with an achilles injury.

Gooners, would Evans help rectify our defence? Let us know in the comments…
