According to reports, Unai Emery has held talks with Everton after enjoying a productive meeting with Farhad Moshiri.

The Toffees’ majority investor joined chairman Bill Kenwright to talk with Emery, reports The Athletic, David Ornstein.

No contract has been offered but it is understood Emery would be keen on the post should Everton pursue a deal.

Last month, the Spaniard was relieved of his duties by Arsenal after a dreadful run of games without victory.

Freddie Ljungberg has since replaced Emery as interim boss and the Swede picked up his first win as Arsenal came from behind to beat West Ham on Monday.

Emery is currently understood to be negotiating the settlement of his Arsenal contract, following his dismissal.

Meanwhile, Everton sacked Marco Silva after the Toffees were thumped by rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, with Duncan Ferguson taking temporary charge.

Everton are currently just one point above the relegation zone.
