Unai Emery says he’s ‘does not know if Granit Xhaka will play for Arsenal again.

The former captain has not appeared for the Gunners since storming off and telling supporters to ‘f*** off’ a fortnight ago.

Xhaka, 27, was stripped of the club captaincy earlier this week after his confrontation with home fans during the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on 27 October.

It’s led to suggestions the Swiss international has now played his last game for Arsenal.

“He said to me that he’s not feeling good enough to play,” said Emery (via BBC Sport).

Xhaka’s last appearance was against Crystal Palace on October 27

“I spoke with him on Tuesday about how he’s feeling and how he is in his mind. He’s working well, he’s training well.

“I need to be focused with the players we have, and then after the international break I am going to speak again with him.”

Arsenal will take on Leicester City without Xhaka in the squad. Brendan Rodgers’ side currently sit six points ahead of the north Londoners in 4th, with a Champions League place firmly on their minds.
