New Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has identified five players he wants to build a team around.

The Gunners boss has already made a host of changes since his arrival last month.

With the help of chief scout Sven Mislintat, Emery has been able to welcome Stephan Lichsteiner and Bernd Leno to the Emirates. Meanwhile Sokratis Papastathapolous and Lucas Torreira are expected be presented in the red and white sooner rather than later.

The former PSG and Sevilla boss has also allowed crowd favourites Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla to leave, with the former currently the fifth most talked about player in relation to a transfer on Twitter according to the Transfer Hound’s hot-o-meter.

Emery has named five players key to his side

Yet according to reports in the Star, it is believed Emery has pinpointed five current players in his squad as ‘untouchable’.

The 46-year-old has already identified the Arsenal stars who he plans on building his team around.

They consist of Alexandre Lacazette, Hector Bellerin, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Granit Xhaka and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Time will tell as to whether the five ‘chosen ones’ can successfully repay Emery’s faith in them.
