Arsenal boss Unai Emery has asked the Arsenal board to free up funds to sign Wilfried Zaha this summer.

The Gunners boss reportedly has just £40m to spend to rebuild his squad following the departures of several first-team players.

Emery’s failure to reach Champions League football next season means the board have set him a tight budget to work to.

One way the Spaniard can top-up that budget though is through player sales and he is strongly considering offloading Mesut Ozil to raise funds.

Zaha, 26, has made it clear to Palace he wants to leave this summer though he hoped to join a club in the Champions League.

Nevertheless, it is expected the boyhood Arsenal fan would be keen on a move to the Emirates.

Zaha, according to The Sun, could cost at least £55m after his consistent form in the Premier League since rejoining Palace five years ago.
