Unai Emery has revealed all on the Arsenal paintball battle.

The Gunners boss decided to carry out a team-bonding session in the Hertfordshire countryside at the start of the week.

Emery is known for putting his players through their paces in training, but few would have thought things would get this intense.

The whole squad, as well as the staff, swapped their football boots for guns and battled it out for a different sort of bragging rights than they are usually accustomed to at London Colney.

And the Gunners boss has explained just why he decided to switch it up this week.

“I like a lot to do something different sometimes,” he explained. “In all my career with all my teams.

“Here for one reason or another reason we haven’t done that. But Monday we prepared for this day. I think it was a good moment to do an activity together away from here.

“And also paintball is good for being together and doing something different, and we enjoyed it. It’s an activity to feel together and change something in our work every day.”

Emery added: “It’s good for enjoyment and to be together and do something different.

“These two weeks, we are playing one match per week, and it’s the moment when you can take one day to do this.

“It’s very difficult in the season because we are playing a lot of matches, and when we have three matches per week it’s impossible to do that.

The Gunners can expect a battle this Friday when they entertain Manchester United at the Emirates for a 4th round FA Cup tie.
