Matteo Geundouzi is in need of a hair cut.
That’s the message from Unai Emery after his young ace had his hair tugged by Marouane Fellaini during Wednesday’s draw with Manchester United.
The 19 year-old, whose hair is often likened to Brazilian David Luiz, has been an instant his for Arsenal since his summer switch from Lorient.
Fellaini, who recently got rid of his own trademark afro, escaped punishment from the referee, Andre Marriner, and Emery believes the incident is no longer a talking point.
“I think the best thing is that he cuts his hair before the next match, then the problem is finished,” the Gunners’ manager said. “Just as Fellaini did. I have not told him that to his face, though. I respect a lot the players; their hair and their hair colour.”
Emery may choose to bench Guendouzi for Huddersfield on Saturday with Granit Xhaka now available following his one match ban.
The Gunners go into the game aiming to stretch their unbeaten run to 20 matches.
