Aaron Ramsey has a longterm future at Arsenal.

That’s the message from Unai Emery, who says he’s “very happy” with the Gunners midfielder.

Rasmey has less than one year to run on his current deal at the Emirates and could leave for free should he fail to sign on the dotted line.

The Gunners are likely to want to tie the Wales international down to a new contract or sell him this summer, rather than risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.

However, Emery has indicated that selling the midfielder is not an option.

As reported by Sport Review, the Spaniard said: “In my opinion, I’ve said to Ivan [Gazidis], Raul [Sanllehi] and Sven [Mislintat] that I think he’s an important player for me.

“I’m very happy with him. For me, every day, every training session, he has the ambition I want.

“He’s working with a quality, the type of ability that I want. I want to work with him.”

Ramsey will likely face heavy competition for places next season. Emery has revealed his faith in Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny after both signed new contracts this summer. Meanwhile, Lucas Torreira has been welcomed following an excellent World Cup campaign with Uruguay.
