Last week Arsenal-Mania reported the Gunners’ firm interest in Chris Smalling. Now, the suggestions are Arsenal could also snap up Phil Jones this summer.

Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his defensive options this summer having conceded 37 Premier League goals so far.

The Daily Star claim they will have to cough up a figure of £25 million to sign Smalling, 28, who has been a part of the furniture at Old Trafford since arriving from Fulham in 2010.

The England international has been a regular starter under Jose Mourinho this season. However, the Englishman did come under fire following Manchester United’s recent 1-0 loss at Newcastle.

The reports also suggests Smalling’s teammate Phil Jones may also be on his way out of Old Trafford.

Jones’ current deal with Manchester United expires in the summer of 2019, so they could well cash in at the end of the season.

Gooners, are Jones an Smalling viable options? Let us know in the comments…
