Arsenal have been crying out for a top-class striker for years now and it seems Arsene Wenger is finally giving the fans what they’ve craved ever since their hearts were shattered by Robin Van Persie’s move to Manchester United.

Alexandre Lacazette is closing in on a club-record move to the Emirates Stadium, according to widespread reports, which indicate a deal worth around €50m (£43m) is set to exceed the £42.5m fee the Gunners paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

The deal is set to be a huge statement of intent from Arsenal, following a season where they finished outside of the top-four for the first-time under Arsene Wenger, and on paper he’s the sort of addition that should bring the best out of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil- providing the duo stay.

Whether he’s the man to propel Arsenal to Premier League glory and end the Gunners long wait for another league crown remains to be seen though but ArsenalFanTV have discussed exactly what a deal could mean during a live broadcast of their Transfer Daily show.
