Arsenal have been very active in the market this summer, landing Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette to bolster their ranks, but Arsene Wenger is intent on continuing his summer spending as he pushes towards another big recruit.

The latest reports indicate Arsenal have made a major breakthrough in their quest to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco by agreeing terms with the French ace, although the Gunners must still agree on a fee with the French principality side.

A deal for Lemar may even end up being more expensive than Arsenal’s capture of Lacazette, potentially meaning Arsenal will break their club-record fee for the second time in the same window- a further indication that Wenger means business.

21-year-old Lemar is now said to be Arsenal’s priority signing after deals for Kolasinac and Lacazette were wrapped up swiftly but more patience may be required to land Lemar as Monaco don’t intend to approve an exit without a fight.

There’s plenty of time left in the transfer window though, so there’s no need to get irritated just yet!
