Arsenal are on a quest to bolster their squad significantly this summer to improve upon last season’s poor Premier League performance, where the Gunners finished outside of the top four for the first time under Arsene Wenger, and major additions are required.

The North London outfit have already sealed Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke and it seems Monaco’s Thomas Lemar could be the latest man through the door, as The Daily Mail suggests a £30m deal is close.

Lemar has reportedly snubbed Tottenham Hotspur in favour of joining the Gunners and could arrive as a direct replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who continues to be linked with an exit as he’s entered the final 12 months of his deal.

That would leave the 21-year-old Frenchman with some very big shoes to fill and fans may be concerned that he matches the criteria of a young, talented winger that Arsenal have seen many times before- notably with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Those two England internationals have arguably not fulfilled their full potential at the Emirates Stadium and it remains to be see whether Lemar is a good signing for the Gunners.

Here, ArsenalFanTV’s Robbie has given the lowdown on the latest news and assessed whether the French international would be the right fit.
