November was, once again, a mixed month for Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal side. Although in years gone by the month before the festive period has been an absolute nightmare, it wasn’t quite as bad as some would have preempted.

The month began in alarming fashion, with the Gunners having to come back from 2-0 down against Bulgarian side Ludogorets in the Champions League, with Mesut Ozil scoring a spectacular late winner.

What followed, however, was a frustrating run of draws against north London rivals Tottenham, Jose Mourinho and his Man United side and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, with Olivier Giroud picking up important goals against the latter two.

You could argue that an Arsenal side of old would have lost these games but fact that Wenger’s side game through with a point says a lot about the Frenchman’s claims he had the most mature squad in years.

The run of draw came to an end with a 3-1 win over Eddie Howe and his Bournemouth side back in the Premier League, with Alexis Sanchez grabbing two of the goals.

The month closed in disappointing fashion with a much-changed Arsenal side getting knocked out of the EFL Cup by Claude Puel and his Southampton side.
