Usually if a player is struggling to get into the game, he deserves to be taken off. However, in this case Lacazette – who admittedly hadn’t had the best of games – deserved to remain on the pitch.

There is no doubt about it that Arsenal’s record signing is a clinical finisher and to take him off on the hour was a poor decision by Wenger. A laboured Watford side would have been easy pickings in the latter stages of the game.
