Arsenal squandered a two-goal lead at Watford to only leave with a point.

It was another defensive calamity for Unai Emery’s side who had looked certain to move into the top four on Sunday.

Top goalscorer and talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put Arsenal 2-o up at Vicarage road with a double in the first-half.

The Gabon international has now recorded an astonishing 37 goals in 54 Premier League matches for the Gunners.

However, Arsenal fell apart in the second period and under re-hired boss Quique Sanchez Flores, the Hornets capitalised on some sloppy defending that Arsenal fans are far too used to seeing from their side.

After losing possession on several occasions, it was Sokratis’ turn to make the next mistake. Gerard Deulofeu diverted the misplaced pass into Tom Cleverley’s path for Watford’s first goal.

1o minutes from time, David Luiz then conceded his second penalty of the season by fouling Roberto Pereyra. The forward rolled in a late penalty to secure Watford only their second point of the season.
