Ahead of tonight’s match versus Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League Quarter-Final 1st leg, I’ve taken a look at our forum, Arsenal Talk, to see what supporters are saying ahead of the game.

You can have your say on tonight’s match on the forum here. This match is live on live on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate at 20:00 and the referee is Glenn Nyberg.

Sniper Mik: “I was worried about the exertion we put in against Brighton but on rewatch I felt we actually slowed the game down enough apart from one or two 5-minute spells to conserve our energy. Apart from Gabriel, Saliba, White, Havertz and Ødegaard, everyone else has been rotated. Gabriel and White did not play in the international break at all so that’s good. White also has Tomiyasu as cover. Havertz and especially Ødegaard are the two players who could be close to the dreaded red zone.”

remains: “We are more than capable of knocking Bayern out over two legs, but this will be a test of the team’s mentality. Not many of our players have experience of a crunch match against a European powerhouse in the business end of the CL. These kinds of games are the pinnacle of club football. Will they rise to the occasion?

Make no mistake, if we don’t turn up, Bayern will punish us. However, I believe this Arsenal team has what it takes.”

LookingForEric: “People saying stay humble, it’s Bayern. Yes in the second leg at Bayern you stay humble… HOWEVER.

These ****s slapped us up in our own backyard multiple times. Not only do I want revenge but they are not good right now and completely low on confidence.

They’ve won just one of their last 5 away games losing 3 in the process. They’ve just held 3 against 10th place in the Bundesliga.

We can and should be winning by at least 3 goals here.”

sakalacaxhaka: “My team to start;

Raya
White Saliba Gabriel Tomi
Partey Rice
Ødegaard
Saka Havertz Martinelli

I do not fancy Gnabry up against Zinchenko, as much as Zinchenko will give us more control in midfield, Tomi is so much better in 1v1’s which will be what they target, Saliba and Gabriel will keep Kane quiet if they don’t let the nerves get to them, which was my only concern from the Porto games.

Partey to keep Musiala quiet, Jorginho played the full 90 which is a clear sign Partey starts, he looked like he was getting back on form v Luton, and it’s just minutes he needed.

Martinelli up against the defence will scare them, more so than Jesus at the moment.

To then have Zinchenko, Jorginho, Jesus, Trossard, ESR, and Vieira to come off the bench looks impressive, I’m hoping for a 3-0 lead to take to Germany, but my head tells me it’s going to be a tight game, and 2-1 is much more likely.”

NieThePiet: “They are not on the same level as Real Madrid in the CL, but they will be absolutely ready for these matches. Bundesliga is lost anyway already for them, so that’s their last chance and I wouldn’t draw conclusions from their Bundesliga matches for this match.

I would take any win to be fair. We can hurt them, but Tuchel knows how to play these matches and frustrate us. They played a good first leg against City last season too until the red from Upa, it will be hopefully close.”
