Arsenal fans have had their say on Danny Welbeck’s simulation to win a penalty in Thursday night’s Europa League win over AC Milan.
The Gunners made it through to the last eight of the competition after a 5-1 aggregate victory over the Italian giants.
However, the second leg could have proved a trickier affair had Welbeck not conned the ref to earn a penalty.
When Milan ace Hakan Calhanoglu let fly from 25 yards to put the aggregate score at 2-1, the Gunners were wobbling.
Yet Welbeck levelled just minutes later by winning and converting a dubious penalty after going down under minimal contact from Ricardo Rodriguez, infuriating Milan’s players.
đź“Š Lots of protestations from the @acmilan players when we were given our spot-kick…
Would you have awarded a penalty?#AFCvACM

Many have criticised Welbeck for the dive, including Arsenal fans, who claim the incident has tarnished the clubs reputation.
Take a look at what they had to say…
To anyone who doesn’t watch Danny Welbeck regularly, I can understand why you’d think that was a dive but I can assure you that was quite simply just Danny Welbeck trying to shoot
