Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has had his say on summer signing, Granit Xhaka’s disciplinary record since making the move to north London, and he’s made a rather bizarre claim.

According to the Gunners boss, his £34m summer signing, isn’t particularly talented when it comes to tackling, which is helpful for a player lauded as a physical presence in the midfield.

It is true, the Swiss international threw in some questionable challenges before being sent off against Burnley, going in with his legs wide apart rather than aiming to take the ball.

When pressed on Xhaka’s discipline, Wenger said:

“I think he’s not naturally a great tackler,

“In his decision making I think he is quite intelligent on the pitch. But it’s more the way he tackles that is not really convincing.”

The former Borussia Monchengladbach man has now seen red twice since making the move to The Emirates over the summer, which has taken his career tally of red cards to a whopping ten which, at the age of 24, is quite remarkable.

We can’t decided if it is horrendous or actually quite commendable to have been sent packing so many times already.
