Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will be making a decision on his Arsenal future in either March or April when he has a chance to meet with shareholders of the club.

Wenger was quoted by German TV ZDF that he would make a decision in between those months, and when asked about the time frame at a press conference, the Gunners boss said:

“Yes, I don’t know which one. Every time I have the opportunity [I talk to the shareholders]. I don’t want to say what they think. It’s about Arsenal and what we can achieve until the end of the season that is important. We have to focus on real problems, the way we play football and not my future.”

Pressure has mounted on Wenger after the demoralising first leg defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night. With the club ten points behind Chelsea in the Premier League, and the FA Cup their only realistic chance of silverware this season, fans and pundits have been lining up to call on the Arsenal manager to leave.

Wenger’s current deal expires in the summer, and a new two year extension was offered to him earlier in the season. Recent events will no doubt play an important part in his decision but speculation will continue on his future until an announcement is made.
