Arsene Wenger has rubbished claims Arsenal have launched bids for David Luiz and Thomas Lemar.

The January transfer window has opened and the Gunners have been tipped to make moves on both players to improve their second half of the season.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte since a reported bust up back in November.

Luiz has been linked with a switch to Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Thomas Lemar was the subject of a £92m bid last summer, but the Gunners were unable to persuade Monaco to part with the winger.

Arsene Wenger failed to deny claims his side were interested in the pair, but rubbished suggestions Arsenal had made bids.

“I don’t want to speak about any special name but these reports are wrong,” said Gunners boss (via Sky Sports).

The Gunners meet Chelsea at the Emirates on Wednesday – though it’s highly unlikely Luiz will be in action for the Blues.
